Meeting of interim Prime Minister with ECO Secretary General

Tashkend, 8 November, 2023 (GNP): The Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar held a meeting with the Secretary General ECO Ambassador Khusrav Noziri, on the sidelines of the 16th ECO Summit in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

They reviewed the recent developments in the Organization especially in the domain of trade, connectivity and economic cooperation.

The meeting, held on November 8, 2023, centered on a wide range of crucial matters related to the organization’s recent developments, with a particular emphasis on trade, connectivity, and economic cooperation.

The leaders of the two nations explored the potential for enhancing economic cooperation among ECO member countries, thereby promoting prosperity and stability within the region.

In addition to these matters, the Caretaker Prime Minister and the Secretary-General also turned their focus to international affairs, addressing pressing issues such as the situation in Indian-Occupied Jammu & Kashmir and the Middle East.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Kakar engaged in constructive dialogues with President Mirziyoyev in Tashkent, aiming to bolster the bilateral relationship between Pakistan and Uzbekistan across various domains, including trade and security.

Both leaders expressed their dedication to expediting the implementation of the Strategic Partnership Agreement and advancing the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan railway project, further enhancing regional connectivity.

The Caretaker Prime Minister extended his gratitude to Prime Minister Abdulla Nigmatovich Aripov of Uzbekistan for the warm welcome extended to him and the Pakistani delegation at the airport upon their arrival in Tashkent for the ECO Summit.
