Aachen, 5 October 2021 (GNP/TDI): Zuzana Caputova, the President of the Slovakian Republic addressed the Charlemagne Prize Ceremony.

The Slovakian President attended the precious Charlemagne Prize Ceremony in Aachen, the city of Germany. Charlemagne is named after Charlemagne, a Holy Roman Emperor. It is the oldest award given to the person for the best services for the European Unification.
While speaking to the event she emphasized European unity. She talked about the importance of this generation’s leaders for the protection of European unification due to the unprecedented challenges. These challenges demand real guardians for the prosperity of the European community.
She talked about restoring the European balance in its commitments and rights. She urged from not refraining from the shared European values of liberal democracy and freedom. She compelled European leaders to not abandon the democratic framework at any cost.
This year Charlemagne award was given to Klaus Iohannis, the President of Romania for his extraordinary services to the European Union. The Slovakian President congratulated his Romanian counterpart for winning this prestigious award.
