Security forces kill eight terrorists in Balochistan

Rawalpindi (GNP): Security forces have killed eight militants in three intelligence-based operations in Balochistan, according to an official statement, which described them as Indian-sponsored members of “Fitna al Hindustan.”

The statement said intelligence agencies had reported several hideouts of the group in the general areas of Shadi Kaur in Tehsil Pasni, Gwadar District, and Jattakabad in Kalat District, posing a threat to local residents. Security forces are conducting operations in both areas to protect the population and clear them of militants.

On 18 October 2026, troops carried out an intelligence-based operation in the Jattakabad area. After an intense exchange of fire, four militants were killed, and a large cache of arms and ammunition was recovered.

In a separate incident, security forces carried out a series of clearance operations in the Shadi Kaur area. During one of them, the lead element of the force, commanded by Major Wajahat Waheed (34, from Lahore), was hit by an improvised explosive device. Major Wajahat was martyred in the line of duty.

Clearance operations will continue to eliminate any remaining militants in the area. The statement added that the counter-terrorism campaign under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” vision, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, will go on at full pace, and that security forces and law enforcement agencies remain committed to eradicating foreign-sponsored terrorism.
