Rwanda showcases vibrant tourism at Pakistan Travel Mart

Karachi (GNP) :- Karachi (TDI): The High Commissioner of Rwanda to Pakistan, Harerimana Fatou, participated in the opening ceremony of Pakistan Travel Mart 2026, at the Karachi Expo Center.

The event has brought together around 15 international and Pakistani companies, offering a platform to showcase their capabilities in tourism and related sectors.

Governor Sindh, Nehal Hashmi, inaugurated the travel and tourism expo, where Rwanda’s High Commission has also set up a vibrant stall, displaying tourism and trade opportunities in Rwanda.

The stall is a focal point for visitors interested in exploring Rwanda’s unique offerings, ranging from its scenic natural attractions to its growing reputation as a hub for investment and business in Africa.

Senior Pakistani officials also visited the Rwanda pavilion, including Sardar Yasir Ilyas, National Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Tourism, and Aftab ur Rehman Rana, Managing Director of the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation.

According to the High Commission, the officials who visited “expressed keen interest” in Rwanda’s tourism landscape and economic opportunities.

Rwanda, often called “Land of a Thousand Hills” is a destination known for eco-tourism, especially trekking in its famous national park.

Visitors can experience rich biodiversity in Nyungwe and Akagera national parks, alongside vibrant culture, modern Kigali, and scenic Lake Kivu.

Pakistan Travel Mart, the country’s largest international travel and tourism exhibition, will continue until Sunday, attracting global tourism boards, airlines, hotels, tour operators and technology providers.

A high-level Sustainable Destinations Forum is also running from Friday through Saturday, focusing on responsible tourism practices and environmental conservation.

A dedicated B2B Roadshow will follow the Karachi event in Islamabad on April 7 and 8 at the Mövenpick Hotel, extending networking and deal-making opportunities across the country.
