London (GNP): British rock star Rod Stewart has announced that his next tour will be his last, ending a touring career that spans more than six decades.
The 81-year-old singer has named the tour “The Final Encore”. It opens in Ireland in April 2027 and closes in Germany on 24 July.
Stewart shared the news in a video message. He called the coming run his last rock and roll tour and described it as “most definitely” his final one.
He also thanked fans for backing his career and said he hoped his music had given them something in return. He added that he has been performing the music he loves since he was 19 and wants to thank his audience with a big show.
The dates follow that promise. The tour begins at Dublin’s 3Arena on 23 April 2027 and then moves through the UK and several European countries. The final performance takes place on 24 July at the ZAG Arena in Hannover.
Fans have a short wait for tickets. General sales for the European dates begin on 2 October 2026, after artist and other presales.

The announcement comes after a health setback. Stewart cancelled the remaining dates of his US tour, and reports said doctors found an underlying heart problem and a blockage, which led to a coronary stent procedure.
Even so, the end of large-scale touring does not mean the end of his career. Stewart has not ruled out one-off performances or new recordings, and reports suggest he could keep working on studio projects.
Stewart said, “The time has come to say farewell to life on the road.”
