Qatari PM Holds Phone Call with Saudi Foreign Minister

Doha (GNP): Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, held a phone call with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud to discuss bilateral relations and recent regional developments.

The two officials reviewed cooperation between their countries and ways to further strengthen it, along with ongoing diplomatic efforts and joint coordination aimed at easing regional tensions and promoting stability.

During the call, Sheikh Mohammed emphasized the importance of all parties remaining committed to dialogue and diplomacy, particularly regarding implementation of the memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran — including provisions to protect freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz — as a means of preserving regional security and stability.

He reaffirmed Qatar’s continued support for efforts to reduce tensions and reach a lasting, comprehensive peace agreement in the region.

Economic Cooperation Discussions

Separately, senior officials from both countries discussed ways to boost trade, streamline customs procedures, and improve logistics efficiency, reflecting the close economic ties and shared goals between Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

In related talks in Doha, Qatar’s Minister of State for International Cooperation Dr. Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad met with Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Qatar, Prince Saad bin Mansour Al Saud, to discuss avenues for deepening bilateral cooperation and other matters of shared interest between the two countries.

Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, spoke by phone on Friday with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud to discuss bilateral relations and ongoing efforts to ease regional tensions.

During the call, the two officials also discussed Pakistan’s mediation efforts between the United States and Iran, focusing on how to coordinate diplomatic support for de-escalation initiatives. Both sides emphasized the importance of addressing the root causes of regional conflicts through peaceful dialogue.

Sheikh Mohammed stressed the need for all relevant parties to engage constructively with ongoing mediation efforts, with the goal of reaching a sustainable agreement that would prevent renewed tensions and support broader stability across the region.
