Punjab Launches 70 New Midwifery Schools for Maternal, Child Health

Islamabad (GNP) : A Landmark Revolution in Maternal & Child Health: 70 New Schools of Midwifery Across Punjab.
We are proud to announce a transformative strategic partnership between the Health Services Academy (HSA) and the Health & Population Department, Government of Punjab. Together, we are launching a specialized initiative to develop Community Health Inspectors (CHIs) as part of the Punjab Chief Minister’s visionary program to revolutionize women and child health outcomes.

Under the dynamic leadership of the CM Punjab and the Vice Chancellor of HSA, this collaboration marks a significant step forward in healthcare delivery through the establishment of 70 Schools of Midwifery at the District and Tehsil levels across the province.

Strategic Highlights of this Initiative:

Institutional Academic Expansion: Implementing a rigorous Associate Degree program across a newly established network of 70 specialized schools to strengthen the healthcare framework at the District and Tehsil levels.

Curriculum Excellence: The Dean, Dr. Mariyam Sarfraz, School of Nursing and Midwifery at HSA will spearhead the development of advanced, evidence-based educational curricula that align with global healthcare standards.

Professional Career Roadmap: We are developing a sustainable professional growth plan. Graduates will embark on a diverse career pathway as Licensed Professional Midwives, with a clear academic trajectory to graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Midwifery.

Clinical Impact: Producing a high-caliber cadre of Skilled Birth Attendants to ensure safer deliveries and significantly improve maternal and neonatal health metrics across Punjab.
