Moscow, 23 Aug, 2023 (GNP): Yevgeny Prigozhin, the prominent figure associated with the Wagner mercenary group, was among the tragic loss of all 10 individuals on board a private jet that crashed in Moscow’s Tver region.
According to reports from the Russian news agency and the country’s civilian aviation regulator, Rosaviatsia, Yevgeny Prigozhin was listed as one of the passengers on the flight. However, the exact circumstances of his presence onboard are yet to be clarified.
The Embraer Legacy aircraft was en route from Moscow to St. Petersburg, carrying seven passengers and a crew of three. The crash occurred near the village of Kuzhenkino in the Tver Region. Regrettably, preliminary information indicates that there were no survivors.

While the investigation into the incident is ongoing, speculation has arisen, with some reports suggesting the possibility of air defense systems being involved in the crash.
Yevgeny Prigozhin’s history gained attention when he led a brief armed rebellion against Russian leadership in June, presenting a notable challenge to President Vladimir Putin’s longstanding authority. The situation resulted in negotiations with the Kremlin, mediated by Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus, leading to a retreat and sanctuary offered to Prigozhin and his Wagner fighters.
