Pakistan’s diplomacy hailed as key to possible US-Iran de-escalation

Islamabad (GNP) :-   Deputy Chairman Senate, Syedal Khan Nasar, has termed the possible ceasefire and the opening of direct negotiations between United States and Iran as a major and historic diplomatic achievement of Pakistan, which is receiving widespread recognition at the global level.

Addressing the concluding session of the National Workshop Balochistan-19 (NWB-19) at Parliament House Islamabad, in honor of a 92-member delegation, he stated that Pakistan’s political and military leadership played a highly effective, balanced, and prudent role in reducing decades-long mistrust between the two countries. This effort, he noted, helped avert the risk of a major global confrontation.

He emphasized that the resumption of dialogue between the United States and Iran after nearly half a century reflects the strength of Pakistan’s realistic and peace-oriented foreign policy. He also revealed that interest has been expressed in holding future rounds of negotiations in Pakistan, indicating growing international confidence in Pakistan as a responsible, credible, and peace-loving state.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s longstanding commitment to peace, he stated that the country has consistently demonstrated its seriousness through practical measures. He underscored that close coordination between political and military leadership is essential for ensuring national strength, stability, and progress. He also appreciated the role of the media in effectively projecting the national narrative and enhancing Pakistan’s positive image globally.

Referring to the National Workshop Balochistan-19, he noted that since its inception in 2017, the platform has been fostering meaningful dialogue on key national issues, particularly in the context of Balochistan. Such intellectual and policy forums, he said, are vital for promoting national cohesion, sustainable development, and collective thinking.

Highlighting Balochistan’s strategic and economic significance, he said the province will play a pivotal role in Pakistan’s bright future.
