Islamabad (GNP): Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal said Pakistan and Egypt share a long-standing relationship built on shared history, common values, and mutual respect, speaking at a ceremony held in Islamabad to mark Egypt’s National Day.
The event, hosted by the Egyptian Embassy, brought together diplomats, government officials, and civil society representatives to celebrate the occasion. Kamal extended congratulations to Egypt’s government and people on behalf of Pakistan’s president, prime minister, and citizens.
He described Egypt as a key partner for Pakistan within the Arab and Muslim world, noting close cooperation between the two countries at bilateral, regional, and international levels. He said Pakistan and Egypt have consistently aligned on shared concerns and worked together to promote peace and stability across the Muslim world and beyond.
Kamal praised Egypt’s role in advancing regional peace efforts and its constructive engagement with regional challenges, along with its contribution to facilitating humanitarian aid for Palestinians — including support that helped enable the delivery of Pakistan’s own humanitarian assistance to Gaza.
He also acknowledged Egypt’s support for Pakistan’s health sector and expressed satisfaction with growing defense cooperation between the two nations, citing training exchanges and senior-level military visits.

Egyptian Ambassador’s Remarks
Egyptian Ambassador to Pakistan Dr. Ihab Abdelhamid, who hosted the reception, reflected on the significance of the 1952 Egyptian Revolution as a pivotal moment in Egypt’s history that shaped the nation’s pursuit of independence, social justice, and development. He said Egypt remains focused on building a modern and resilient state while staying committed to peace, dialogue, and international cooperation.
Abdelhamid described Pakistan-Egypt relations as rooted in mutual respect and shared values, noting that bilateral ties have gained considerable momentum over the past two years through high-level exchanges — including visits by Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty to Pakistan and Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar to Egypt, both of which he called important milestones in strengthening political and strategic cooperation.

He emphasized that amid rising regional and global challenges, both countries remain committed to diplomacy and international law as the path toward lasting peace and development, expressing confidence that current momentum would translate into stronger trade, economic cooperation, and people-to-people ties.
The ambassador thanked Pakistan for its hospitality since his arrival and expressed optimism about the continued growth of the Egypt-Pakistan relationship, closing his remarks by thanking attendees for joining the celebration.
Cultural Celebrations
The ceremony featured speeches, cultural performances, and a customary cake-cutting to mark the occasion, along with live Egyptian music, traditional food, and folk performances. The ambassador also previewed upcoming initiatives, including cultural festivals and student exchange programs, aimed at deepening people-to-people connections between the two countries.
