Islamabad, January 17 2024,(GNP): The breach of Pakistan’s airspace by Iran prompted strong condemnation from Islamabad, with the Foreign Office cautioning Tehran about the grave repercussions of its actions.
In a statement, Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch strongly denounces Iran’s unwarranted airspace violation, emphasizing that the incident led to the tragic death of two innocent children and injuries to three girls.

The spokesperson categorizes this infringement of Pakistan’s sovereignty as entirely unacceptable, warning of potential serious consequences.
Expressing heightened concern, she emphasized the alarming nature of this illicit act, particularly as it occurred despite the presence of multiple communication channels between Pakistan and Iran.

The spokesperson highlighted that Pakistan has already lodged a robust protest with the relevant senior official in the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tehran.
Furthermore, she stated that the Iranian Charge d’affaires has been summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to deliver a firm condemnation of this flagrant breach of Pakistan’s sovereignty, with a clear indication that Iran will bear responsibility for the ensuing consequences.
The spokesperson added that Pakistan consistently asserts terrorism as a shared threat to all regional nations, necessitating coordinated efforts. Unilateral actions like these, she stressed, run counter to fostering good neighborly relations and have the potential to significantly erode bilateral trust and confidence.
According to Iranian state media reports, they asserted targeting a terrorist organization’s bases in Pakistan using drones and missiles, resulting in the destruction of the group’s headquarters. The area in Pakistan identified in these claims is referred to as “Green Mountain.”
