Pakistan embassy celebrates 84th national day in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, 17 April, 2024 (GNP): Pakistan Embassy in Kyrgyzstan hosted a reception on the occasion of the 84th National Day of Pakistan at Hyatt Rengency Bishkek on 16 April 2024.  Edil Baisalov, Deputy Chairman of the Kyrgyz Cabinet of Ministers graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

The reception was attended by senior Kyrgyz government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, prominent businessmen and members of Pakistani community in Bishkek.

The event commenced with the national anthems of Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan. Ambassador Hasan Ali Zaigham and Edil Baisalov addressed the participants followed by a cake cutting ceremony.

In his address, Edil Baisalov congratulated the government and people of Pakistan on the occasion of Pakistan Day. He also extended congratulations on successful holding of general elections and formation of new government this year.

He emphasized that the Kyrgyz Republic attached great importance to the development of political, trade, economic, transport, investment, cultural and humanitarian ties with Pakistan. He also mentioned that Pakistan was the first to recognize the independence of the Kyrgyz Republic and established diplomatic relations on May 10, 1992.

He expressed the resolve of Kyrgyz Government to develop all weather connectivity with Pakistani ports of Karachi and Gwadar.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Hasan Zaigham explained the significance of Pakistan resolution adopted on 23rd March 1940 for a separate homeland for Muslims.

Giving a brief overview of recent progress in Kyrgyz-Pakistan relations, he expressed confidence that the relationship would continue to flourish in the coming years based on solid foundations laid by various bilateral consultation mechanisms.

He reiterated that Kyrgyzstan is Pakistan’s most valued partner in Central Asia and a critical factor in Pakistan’s energy security.

He mentioned that CASA-1000 project is an enduring symbol of our relationship in the field of energy and it would help enhance our bilateral relations to the strategic level. The dignitaries also cut the ceremonial cake on the occasion.

A group of Pakistani musicians comprising Raees Ahmed, Murad, Khalid Mehmood, Gulab Khel and Ali Raza entertained the audience with famous Pakistani national tunes.
