Tehran (GNP): Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, together with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, wrapped up a one-day trip to Iran on Tuesday, part of Islamabad’s broader push to help resolve the ongoing tension between the US and Iran and support lasting stability in the region.
During the visit, the Field Marshal met separately with several senior Iranian officials, including President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, Mohsen Rezaei (the Supreme Leader’s representative on the Supreme National Security Council), Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, and Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni.
The talks centered on preventing further escalation of the conflict, restoring normal passage through the Strait of Hormuz, and bringing the confrontation to a swift close.
Both sides also discussed the broader prospects for regional peace and possible paths toward a negotiated settlement of outstanding disputes.
Iranian officials commended Pakistan’s role in the process, expressing appreciation for Islamabad’s efforts to encourage dialogue, reduce tensions, and work toward a peaceful outcome.

On his arrival, the Field Marshal was welcomed by Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni along with other senior Iranian civilian and military officials.
