Mumbai (GNP): Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff escaped unhurt after gunmen fired at his car in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Sunday evening. The attack injured his driver and an autorickshaw driver, police said.
The shooting took place near Pushpa Park in the western suburb, as Shroff was returning from playing football at a club. Police said three attackers on motorcycles were involved.
A witness account suggests the assailants opened fire just as the actor was about to get into his BMW. Police have not yet confirmed that detail.
Shroff’s driver, identified as Firdaus, was hurt in his left hand. The autorickshaw driver, identified as Chauhan, was also wounded. Both were taken for medical treatment.
Shroff’s father, veteran actor Jackie Shroff, confirmed that his son was safe. He added that the actor was at the police station helping the investigation.
Soon after the attack, a social media post reportedly issued by members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility. A man named in the post as Anil Pandit said he and Harman Sandhu carried out the shooting.
The post claimed they had earlier contacted Shroff to warn him, and that he failed to heed them. It also threatened other people in Mumbai’s film industry who work with actor Salman Khan.
Mumbai Police have not confirmed any link between the gang and the attack. They said the motive remains unclear and will be established as the investigation moves forward.
For now, teams drawn from the Mumbai Crime Branch and the local police are working to trace those responsible. Officers have cordoned off the area and begun a search for the attackers.
Investigators are also examining closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from nearby streets. The aim is to establish how many people took part and how they moved before and after the shooting.
A police official said the Juhu Police have begun a detailed inquiry into the exact sequence of events and the circumstances of the firing.
The attack adds to growing worry over violence aimed at prominent figures in Mumbai. On February 1, unidentified assailants on a motorcycle fired at filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s home in Juhu shortly after midnight. Several rounds hit the nine-storey building, and one bullet struck the glass of a gym on the first floor.

The latest shooting has heightened anxiety across the film industry.
