Lahore (GNP): Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif said in her message on Micro, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (MSME) Day that the purpose of celebrating this day is to focus the government’s attention on small and medium-sized businesses. She highlighted that there are immense opportunities in small and medium-sized businesses in Punjab, and the Government will provide all possible support to SME traders for access to global markets.
She said that Punjab government is supporting SMEs through Easy Business Finance and Easy Business Card Schemes; under which, transport and wholesale businesses are thriving. She added that they are encouraging SMEs in every sector, including livestock, agriculture, handicrafts, and garments; as investment in small businesses is essential for economic stability and prosperity.
Chief Minister Punjab said that this is a day of showing commitment to measures for encouraging and promoting innovation in small businesses and entrepreneurship; as fostering a conducive environment for the promotion of entrepreneurial culture is among top priorities of Punjab government.

She added that SMEs bring not only increased employment but also prosperity; as Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are the backbone of an economy. She underscored that by not increasing taxes in the budget, they are greatly promoting SMEs; and flashed that business activities are increasing due to favorable law and order situation in the province.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that the government is overcoming challenges faced by small industries by providing them possible resources. She added that for the medium-sized businesses, there is a need for special focus on logistics support, technology, and increasing access to markets.
