FM Pakistan meets with DG IAEA

The Foreign Minister stressed the use of atomic energy in sectors that benefit society as a whole, such as agriculture, industry, and the production of electricity.

Islamabad, 15 Feburary 2023 (GNP): Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Foreign Minister of Pakistan, and Rafael Mariano Grossi, the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), met on Wednesday in Islamabad to talk about issues related to nuclear technology.

The Foreign Minister stressed the use of atomic energy in sectors that benefit society as a whole, such as agriculture, industry, and the production of electricity.

The head of the IAEA praised Pakistan’s nuclear capabilities, according to the Foreign Office. Rafael Mariano Grossi is on 2-day visit of Pakistan.

The Director General of the IAEA will attend high-level discussions during his visit and pay visits to several organizations that use nuclear technology in the areas of health, agriculture, industry, and power production.

The Foreign Office stated, The visit will give Pakistan and the IAEA the chance to examine ways to further improve their continued collaboration for the nation’s socioeconomic development in the realm of peaceful nuclear applications.

Pakistan joined the IAEA as one of its founding members in 1957, and the two entities have a long history of productive cooperation.
