Islamabad (GNP): Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
The two leaders welcomed the recent understandings reached between the United States and Iran and exchanged views on the forthcoming signing of the Memorandum of Understanding in Bürgenstock, Switzerland, on 19 June 2026.
They also discussed preparations for the upcoming Regional Four (R-4) Foreign Ministers’ meeting later this month.
They also exchanged views on Pakistan–Türkiye bilateral relations and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the longstanding brotherly ties between the two countries.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei stated that major parts of a ceasefire agreement have been finalized despite U.S. contradictions and aggression.
However, he dismissed media speculation about a final deal and reiterated Iran’s firm and principled position.

President Donald Trump formally signed the deal – which is set to reopen the pivotal Strait of Hormuz – while attending the G7 summit in Evian-les-Bains in France.
The 14-point agreement, which is known as a Memorandum of Understanding, says that Iran will never have a nuclear weapon, and also commits a $300 billion fund for the “reconstruction and economic development” of the country – although the US is not required to contribute. It comes four months after the conflict between the countries – and Israel – broke out.
