TikTok Rolls Out New Steps to Label AI Content and Curb AI Spam ISLAMABAD (GNP): TikTok has unveiled a package of measures to help users recognise, understand and responsibly engage with AI-generated content. The package covers broader AI literacy resources, improved detection of AI-generated spam, and a closer relationship with the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA). The changes extend TikTok’s existing efforts to promote transparent, responsible use of AI on the platform, protect authentic creators, and give people more insight into, and control over, the AI content they see. TikTok is widening its AI literacy work with new educational materials, an in-app learning hub and continued funding for expert organisations that teach people to use AI responsibly. It will also trial stronger detection tools aimed at accounts that exist mainly to post AI-generated spam, especially on subjects that could affect public trust or well-being. On transparency, TikTok has joined the C2PA Steering Committee and will back wider industry adoption of Content Credentials. Together with NAMLE and AI expert Henry Ajder, TikTok produced a new guide on using AI tools responsibly. Its in-app AI Hub is now live worldwide, Pakistan included, putting practical AI education within easy reach. The Hub shows up in search results when users look for AI-related terms. It offers guides, educational material and practical advice on spotting AI-generated content, understanding how it can be used, and engaging with AI responsibly. TikTok will keep supporting organisations that make AI literacy content for its community. Since the programme began in November 2025, participants such as NoFiltr and the Raspberry Pi Foundation have earned over 200 million views for content that helps people understand and use AI responsibly. TikTok has put more than US$4 million into the programme so far and intends to keep investing in its reach and impact. TikTok has long banned spam and uses technology to detect and remove fake accounts at scale, taking down over 86 million in the first three months of this year alone. It has also marked more than 3 billion videos as AI-generated, relying on a mix of Content Credentials, creator labelling tools and invisible watermarking. The company described the new measures as part of a wider effort to encourage positive uses of AI alongside safeguards and greater user control. It continues to build AI-powered creative tools, including Smart Split and AI Outline, and is testing a feature called Manage Topics, which lets users decide how much AI-generated content appears in their feeds.
