Islamabad, 2 October 2021 (GNP): A telephone call was held between Imran Khan, Prime Minister of Pakistan, and Emomali Rahmon, President of Tajikistan. While discussing the Dushanbe talks, Prime Minister, Imran khan thanked Tajik President for his hospitality to the Pakistani delegation during his visit to Dushanbe (city of Tajikistan) last month.
The Prime Minister thanked President Rahmon for the warm hospitality extended to him and his delegation during the recent visit to Dushanbe on 16-17 September 2021.

Both sides expressed their satisfaction over the ongoing Pakistan-Tajik bilateral cooperation. The leaders of the two countries also promised to strengthen close ties in the future. Both parties talked about the current situation in Afghanistan. Moreover, shared each other’s contribution to peace and stability in Afghanistan.
The two leaders exchanged views on the follow-up to the talks held in Dushanbe last month.

Prime Minister Imran Khan stressed addressing the humanitarian needs of the Afghan people as a priority. Moreover, both sides highlighted the importance of economic engagement in Afghanistan to avert possible Afghan crises in the future.
