Sri Lanka’s leadership pushes zero-tolerance on corruption, Fred

High Commissioner meets with the Ambassador of Indonesia in Islamabad

Islamabad :  The High Commissioner of Sri Lanka, Rear Admiral Fred Senevirathne, paid a courtesy call on the Ambassador of Indonesia in Islamabad, Lt. General Chandra Sukotjo, at the Embassy of Indonesia.
High Commissioner Senevirathne was warmly welcomed by Ambassador Sukotjo, who briefed him on Indonesia’s relations with Sri Lanka.

The High Commissioner expressed his appreciation to the Ambassador for arranging the meeting with warm hospitality and acknowledged the continued collaboration between the two countries. He also highlighted the current political leadership’s vision in Sri Lanka to enforce a zero-tolerance policy against corruption, malpractices, and the misuse of government property, promote good governance, and create greater investment opportunities for foreign investors.

During the discussion, High Commissioner specifically highlighted and appreciated the significant role played by Indonesian law enforcement authorities in assisting the Sri Lanka Police to arrest five most wanted under world criminal in Jakartha. Ambassador of Indonesia was very pleased and promised to contact the relevant officials to convey High Commissioner’s appreciation.

He further confirmed that the Indonesian government’s commitment for supporting such operation in the future as well.

A Christy Ruban, Minister of the High Commission of Sri Lanka in Islamabad was present at the meeting.
