Russian Embassy Announces Values Contest for Young People Worldwide

Islamabad (GNP): The Embassy of Russia in Pakistan has announced that the international competition “Russia – Country of Traditional Values” is now open for entries. The embassy shared the details on its official page on X.

The embassy said the competition has gone international this year at the initiative of the Russian Foreign Ministry. Its stated aim is to show the universal relevance of Russia’s traditional values and to involve young people worldwide in intercultural dialogue with Russia.

The idea comes from M.V. Zakharova, Director of the Department of Information Policy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The competition is organised by the Innovative Center for the Development and Education of Children and Youth, an autonomous non-profit organisation, with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund.

Taking part begins with research. Participants study the 17 traditional values set out in Russian Presidential Decree No. 809 of 9 November 2022 and choose the one that resonates with them most.

They then explore how that value shows itself in the culture, traditions and everyday life of their own country. The last step is to put the value into practice and present the results as a video, a presentation or a drawing.

All entries must be bilingual, submitted in Russian and in any foreign language. Entries are accepted online until 20 December 2026 at youthy.ru, and participation is free.

Every participant receives an electronic certificate and a letter of appreciation. Winners receive diplomas and gifts from sponsors, while the authors of the best entries receive special diplomas.

Participants aged 7 to 17 who win first place in any category also earn a trip to the Children’s Republic “Polenovo” health and recreation camp. Foreign participants can compete for a special nomination, “Best Work on the Values That Unite Us”.

The embassy said results will be announced in February and March 2027. The best entries will appear on the Russian Foreign Ministry’s official information platforms and on those of Russian diplomatic missions abroad.

An awards ceremony will follow in Moscow in 2027 at the National Center “Russia”. Organisers say government and public figures and representatives of the diplomatic corps will attend.

Last season, the competition received 4,310 entries from 89 regions and eight countries, involving more than 15,000 children, parents and teachers. The international format now opens that circle to young people worldwide.

The Embassy of Russia in Pakistan said the competition aims to “engage young people from around the world in fostering intercultural dialogue with Russia.”
