Nagoya (GNP): Pakistan’s volleyball team beat Uzbekistan 3-0 in its second Group A match at the 2026 Asian Games in Nagoya.
The scores were 25-18, 25-18 and 25-20, played at the Okazaki Chuo Sogo Park Gymnasium. The result gives Pakistan its second win of the tournament.
Pakistan controlled the match from the start. The team built an early lead in the first set and did not let Uzbekistan mount a sustained comeback.
It repeated the 25-18 scoreline in the second set to move within one set of victory.
Uzbekistan offered more resistance in the third set. Pakistan held its composure and closed out the match 25-20.

The win follows a 3-1 victory over Kazakhstan in the opening match. Team manager Naseer Ahmad said the players improved after that first game, when they needed time to adjust.
That improvement matters because the group stage is not over. Pakistan now faces hosts Japan in its final group match, and Naseer acknowledged the strength of the Japanese side.
The top two teams from each of the four groups will qualify for the quarter-finals.
Pakistan’s squad for the competition includes setter Abu Bakar Siddique and captain Murad Jehan. It also features Afaq Khan, Muhammad Yahya, Murad Khan, Fahad Raza, Hamid Yazman, Jabran, Muhammad Hamad, Musawer Khan, Khizar Hayat and Usman Faryad Ali.
Naseer said, “Japan is a tough team, but we will try our level best.”
