Pakistan Navy Seizes Over 2,800kg of Narcotics Worth $750 Million

Rawalpindi (GNP): Pakistan Navy ships PNS Hunain and PNS Yarmook seized more than 2,800 kilograms of narcotics valued at approximately $750 million during a joint counter-narcotics operation in the Arabian Sea.

While conducting routine patrols, the vessels intercepted a suspicious boat and, during a boarding operation, discovered drugs hidden in concealed compartments.

Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf praised the professionalism and vigilance shown by the officers and crew involved, reaffirming the Navy’s commitment to maritime security and combating illegal trafficking at sea.

Separately, according to an Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) spokesperson, two suspects bound for Bahrain were arrested at Peshawar Airport carrying 1.5 kg of methamphetamine.

At Lahore Airport, a passenger traveling to Jeddah was arrested after authorities recovered 80 heroin-filled capsules weighing a total of 460 grams from inside his abdomen. In a separate incident at the same airport, 1.75 kg of marijuana was found inside a carton within a parcel arriving from the United States.

At a courier facility in Islamabad, 210 grams of cannabis-derived substance was discovered hidden in clothing inside a parcel headed for the United Arab Emirates.

In domestic enforcement operations, a motorcyclist was arrested near Baleli Check Post in Quetta District after being found with 8.4 kg of hashish. Near Faisalabad Road in Sheikhupura, another motorcyclist was arrested carrying 5 kg of hashish and 1 kg of opium.

Near University Road in Peshawar, 900 grams of hashish were recovered from a vehicle, resulting in a suspect’s arrest, while 195 kg of opium was seized near Aghberg in Quetta District.
