Islamabad (GNP): Zong, one of Pakistan’s leading technology services companies, has teamed up with ISP Environmental Solutions (ISPES) to introduce PecoDrop, a first-of-its-kind smart waste management system, marking a notable step toward embedding technology, data, and circular-economy principles into everyday workplace sustainability practices.
The smart recycling stations will be rolled out across Zong’s facilities to enable on-site sorting and recovery of recyclable plastic, paper, and metal. By bringing waste segregation directly to the point of disposal, PecoDrop offers a tech-driven approach to improving recycling habits, cutting down on recyclable materials ending up in landfills, and promoting more responsible consumption and disposal practices. Central to the initiative is a digital waste management system that tracks data on material deposits, volumes, and collections — creating a traceable record from disposal through to recovery. The project reflects Zong’s broader vision of applying technology not just to connectivity, but to tackling environmental and social challenges with measurable results.
The initiative also includes a rewards system through which Zong employees can earn credits for depositing recyclable materials, track their contributions digitally, and redeem accumulated points. By linking responsible behavior to tangible recognition, the programme aims to make recycling more accessible, engaging, and trackable, while helping build a stronger culture of environmental responsibility within the workplace.
Zong’s Head of Strategy and Company Spokesperson, Nabila Yazdani, said sustainability is woven into how the company operates and makes decisions on a daily basis, describing PecoDrop as an example of how technology, data, and employee engagement can combine to create a smarter, more measurable approach to waste management. She added that Zong views technology not just as a tool for connectivity but as a powerful driver of sustainable operations and responsible resource use, calling the initiative a practical step toward a scalable model for a more circular, sustainable workplace.
ISPES CEO Dr. Zillay Maryam described the partnership as extending well beyond simple collection points, framing it instead as building the foundational infrastructure for a genuine circular economy. By deploying smart, technology-integrated segregation systems, she said, waste separation begins right at the point of disposal — enabling full recovery and recycling of sorted materials. She expressed pride in partnering with Zong to develop both the digital and physical infrastructure needed for a cleaner, more sustainable future.

Launched to coincide with World Cleanup Day, the partnership reflects Zong’s broader effort to move sustainability from an occasional initiative to a consistent, measurable part of everyday workplace practice.
