Rawalpindi (GNP): Malaysia’s Minister of Home Affairs, Saifuddin Nasution Bin Ismail, met with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi. He was accompanied by Malaysia’s ambassador to Pakistan and a senior delegation.
The discussion centered on the regional security landscape and issues of shared interest to both countries. Both sides underscored the depth of the Pakistan-Malaysia relationship and voiced interest in expanding cooperation across areas of mutual concern. Munir, for his part, reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening defense ties and strategic engagement with Malaysia.
Separately in Islamabad on Friday, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held talks with the visiting Malaysian minister, describing the two countries’ relationship as close and fraternal.
The two discussed avenues for deeper bilateral cooperation, including trade, economic ties, mutual legal assistance, and people-to-people exchanges, and touched on regional and international issues of shared interest.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to working together toward peace, stability, and prosperity.

The meeting was also attended by several senior Pakistani officials: Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain, Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, Minister of State for Interior and Narcotics Control Talal Chaudhry, Federal Secretary for Commerce Jawad Paul, Federal Secretary for National Food Security and Research Amer Ali Ahmed, and other senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
