49 Militants Killed in KP, Balochistan Operations

Rawalpindi (GNP): Pakistani security forces killed 49 militants in a series of operations conducted over the past several days, according to the military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, twelve militants belonging to what the military terms the India-backed Fitna al Khwarij network were killed during several intelligence-based raids in Bannu, North Waziristan, Orakzai, and Khyber districts. Forces recovered and destroyed a substantial cache of explosives, remote detonators for IEDs, weapons, ammunition, and motorcycles during the operations.

In Balochistan, thirty-seven militants linked to a separate network the military identifies as India-backed Fitna al Hindustan were killed across ten intelligence-based operations in Mastung, Mach, Khuzdar, and Panjgur districts. Security forces seized and destroyed a significant quantity of weapons, drums of explosives, and remote detonation equipment during these raids.

The operations were carried out jointly with police as part of an ongoing campaign targeting what Pakistan’s military describes as India-sponsored proxy networks operating under the Fitna al Khwarij and Fitna al Hindustan banners. ISPR said the raids have dealt significant setbacks to these networks and reaffirmed that security forces remain committed to defending the country’s borders.

Follow-up clearance operations are continuing in the affected areas to root out any remaining militants linked to these networks, the statement said.

ISPR added that the broader counterterrorism campaign — carried out under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” framework approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan — will continue at full intensity, with security forces and law enforcement agencies working to eliminate what it called foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
