Islamabad (GNP): Shifa Foundation successfully concluded the third cohort of its “NUR of Tomorrow” Youth Internship Programme, held at Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad, bringing together college and university students from Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and surrounding areas.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Shifa Foundation Executive Director Dr. Abdul Wahab Hassan said young people don’t need to wait for the future to make a difference — they can start creating positive change now.
The four-day capacity-building program equipped participants with practical life skills, including emergency preparedness, mental health awareness, digital and cyber safety, communication, teamwork, and civic responsibility — skills organizers say are increasingly important for academic success and future employment.
Through interactive sessions and hands-on activities, participants strengthened their communication and leadership abilities while gaining practical training in emergency response, first aid, CPR, and fire safety. The program also covered mental health topics such as stress management and resilience, alongside digital literacy, online safety, and responsible AI use.
Participants engaged directly with healthcare professionals, development practitioners, and subject experts throughout the program, helping build confidence for future involvement in volunteering and community service.
The program coincided with International Youth Day 2026, highlighting the role young people can play in building healthier, safer, and more sustainable communities. As part of the initiative, Shifa Foundation also launched a youth-led tree plantation drive, encouraging participants to take direct action on environmental sustainability and climate resilience.
Shifa Foundation Director of Programs Sheikh Younas thanked participating students for their enthusiasm and commitment, and acknowledged the trainers, facilitators, volunteers, and organizing teams who supported the program.
Shifa Foundation reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to youth empowerment, health and safety education, and community service, aiming to nurture responsible citizens who can contribute to a healthier and more sustainable Pakistan.
