Islamabad (GNP): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar spoke with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, who congratulated Dar on the recent signing of the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye.
The two also exchanged views on regional developments, including the situation in Occupied East Jerusalem.
Discussions also covered Pakistan-Kuwait relations, including follow-up to Al-Sabah’s recent visit to Pakistan and opportunities to expand cooperation and investment across key sectors, with both sides agreeing to remain closely engaged going forward.
Recap of Recent Bilateral Meeting
During an earlier meeting last month, the two foreign ministers reaffirmed the strong relationship between Pakistan and Kuwait, rooted in shared history and mutual respect.
They reviewed the full range of bilateral ties and discussed expanding cooperation in areas including trade, investment, energy, IT, and agriculture.
Dar stressed the importance of sustained high-level engagement in strengthening the long-standing partnership between the two countries.
Both ministers agreed to establish joint working groups covering key cooperation areas — including energy, trade and investment, agriculture and food security, IT, education, and health — and to meet periodically to review progress and guide implementation of these efforts.
On defense cooperation, Dar welcomed Kuwait’s recent ratification of the Pakistan-Kuwait Defence Cooperation Agreement, originally signed in June 2023, describing it as an important milestone that would strengthen institutional ties between the two countries’ armed forces.
The ministers also discussed recent regional and international developments, reaffirming their commitment to close coordination within multilateral forums including the United Nations.
Al-Sabah reaffirmed Kuwait’s commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation and acknowledged the contributions of the Pakistani community to Kuwait’s development.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both sides expressing satisfaction with the trajectory of bilateral relations and reaffirming their commitment to strengthening the Pakistan-Kuwait partnership going forward.
