Jeddah (GNP): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, at the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.
Upon arrival, he was welcomed by Deputy Governor of Makkah Region Prince Saud bin Mishaal, Saudi Environment, Water and Agriculture Minister Abdulrahman Al-Fadley, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmad Farooq, and other senior officials.
During the three-day visit, Sharif is set to meet with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to discuss strengthening ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and to exchange views on regional developments.
The visit also includes plans for the prime minister to perform Umrah and visit the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah.
Accompanying Sharif on the trip are Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Federal Ministers Khawaja Muhammad Asif and Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant to the PM Tariq Fatemi.
Umrah Performed in Makkah
Sharif and his delegation performed Umrah during the visit, with the Kaaba’s door specially opened for the group. Following the completion of the rituals, the prime minister, along with Field Marshal Munir and other delegation members, offered prayers for Pakistan’s progress, unity within the Muslim world, and regional and global peace.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Federal Ministers Khawaja Muhammad Asif and Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi also performed Umrah.
The delegation prayed for the development and properity of the country, Muslim Ummah and peace and stability in the world and the region.

Sharif arrived in Jeddah on Thursday evening for the three-day visit, which, alongside his meeting with the Saudi crown prince, includes his visit to the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah.
