PML-N Sweeping Rwp Migrant Seats in AJK Elections

Rawalpindi (GNP): Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting Barrister Danyal Chaudhry expressed confidence that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) would win all three migrant seats from Rawalpindi in the upcoming Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly elections, saying the party intends to dedicate the win to Nawaz Sharif.

He made the remarks at the opening of an election office for AJK candidate Ahmed Raza Qadri in Rawalpindi. The event was attended by Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, MNA Tahira Aurangzeb, former Rawalpindi Mayor Sardar Naseem Khan, MPAs Raja Muhammad Hanif, Ziaullah Shah, Malik Iftikhar, and Zeb-un-Nisa Awan, along with PML-N party workers and members of the public.

Chaudhry described the people of Kashmir as patriotic and deeply connected to Pakistan, citing their history of solidarity and sacrifice during difficult times as the foundation of the strong relationship between Pakistan and Azad Kashmir.

He credited past PML-N governments with completing major development projects in Azad Kashmir, particularly in road infrastructure, education, healthcare, and public welfare, saying the benefits of these initiatives continue to reach residents today. He added that PML-N has consistently prioritized service delivery and development-focused governance, and pledged that the party would continue working to meet the expectations of Azad Kashmir’s residents going forward.

The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly is a 53-member unicameral body based in Muzaffarabad, comprising 45 general seats and 8 reserved seats. The region is currently led by Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, with Chaudhry Latif Akbar serving as Speaker.
