Beijiao Emerges as China’s Leading Industrial Robot

Beijiao Emerges as China's Leading Industrial Robot

China (GNP): A small township in southern China is making a big impact on the country’s advanced manufacturing sector. Beijiao, located in Shunde District of Foshan, Guangdong Province, has become China’s largest industrial robot manufacturing hub, producing one out of every 20 industrial robots made in the country.

The township is home to a dense network of factories, technology companies, and suppliers that work together to design, produce, and assemble industrial robots with remarkable speed and efficiency.

Large manufacturing facilities dominate the area, while trucks move continuously between factories, delivering parts and finished products. This close industrial network has helped Beijiao build a highly efficient supply chain, allowing companies to reduce production time and improve innovation.

One of the leading companies in the township is HiTrom Han’s Industrial Co., Ltd., whose Intelligent Robot Manufacturing City showcases the region’s advanced manufacturing capabilities. During a visit to the facility, a collaborative robot attracted attention with its ability to perform tasks with an impressive precision of less than 0.02 millimeters.

According to Zhan’ou, Deputy General Manager of HiTrom Han’s Industrial Co., Ltd., the company’s manufacturing model is based on close cooperation between multiple businesses operating in the same building.

He explained that more than 20 companies work under one roof, with each company specializing in different robot components. Some produce reducers, others manufacture servo motors, robotic arms, complete robot bodies, or integrated robotic systems.

Since all these companies are located in the same building, components can simply be transported by elevator for immediate assembly. This unique setup allows manufacturers to dramatically shorten product development time.

Engineers can complete a robot design in the morning, receive the required parts from another floor in the afternoon, and finish testing a working prototype before the end of the day.

Tao Yuanming, Secretary-General of the Shunde Robotics Association, described this process as “design in the morning, verification in the afternoon.” What might take weeks or even months in traditional manufacturing has become a normal daily workflow in Beijiao.

The township’s success reflects China’s broader efforts to strengthen its high-tech manufacturing industry through automation, robotics, and innovation.

By bringing suppliers, designers, engineers, and manufacturers together in one location, Beijiao has created an industrial ecosystem that encourages faster product development, lower production costs, and continuous technological improvement.

Industrial robots are becoming increasingly important across industries such as automotive manufacturing, electronics, logistics, healthcare, and precision engineering.

As demand for automation continues to grow both in China and internationally, manufacturing centers like Beijiao are expected to play an even greater role in supporting global supply chains.

Experts believe Beijiao’s integrated manufacturing model could serve as an example for other industrial regions seeking to improve efficiency and accelerate innovation.

The township demonstrates how close collaboration between specialized companies can transform product development and strengthen industrial competitiveness.

From a small township covering less than 100 square kilometers to becoming China’s leading industrial robot production center, Beijiao has emerged as a symbol of modern smart manufacturing. Its rapid innovation, efficient production model, and strong industrial network continue to position it at the forefront of China’s growing robotics industry.
