Sialkot (GNP): Ambassador Mary O’Neill commended the contributions and entrepreneurial spirit of Sialkot’s business community, acknowledging its pivotal role in driving economic activity and exports. She remarked that Sialkot International Airport stands as a reflection of visionary leadership and continues to make a significant contribution to the growth of Pakistan’s exports and international connectivity.
Ambassador of Ireland to Pakistan, Mary O’Neill, paid an official visit to Sialkot International Airport. The Ambassador was accompanied by officials from the Embassy of Ireland.
Upon arrival, the distinguished delegation was warmly received by Vice Chairman SIAL Waqas Afzal, Esteemed Members of the Board of Directors, and CEO SIAL.

During the visit, the Vice Chairman briefed the Ambassador and accompanying officials on the airport’s operations, ongoing development initiatives, and its contribution to regional economic growth. He highlighted the strategic role of Sialkot International Airport as a vital gateway connecting the Pakistani diaspora residing in Ireland and across Europe with their homeland.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chairman SIAL underscored the significance of the visit in further strengthening the cordial relations between Pakistan and the Republic of Ireland through enhanced people-to-people contacts and cooperation in the aviation sector. He also appreciated Ireland’s efforts in promoting trade, investment, educational collaboration, and bilateral ties between the two countries.
The two sides exchanged views on opportunities for expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest. They agreed on the importance of further strengthening international connectivity to facilitate trade, tourism, and cultural exchanges between Pakistan and Ireland.
