San Francisco (GNP): LinkedIn Post Analytics 2026 has received a major update, as LinkedIn rolled out expanded post analytics that give creators a much clearer picture of exactly who is seeing their content. The new feature splits impressions into two separate categories called in-network reach and out-of-network reach, helping creators better understand how their posts are performing and who they are reaching on the platform.
In-network reach shows how many post views are coming from existing connections and followers. Out-of-network reach tracks impressions from users who were not already following or connected to the creator when they saw the post. LinkedIn says these out-of-network viewers are discovering content through feed recommendations, reshares, and search. This means the metric directly shows how well a post is helping a creator grow their audience beyond the people they already know.
The new breakdown can be found in the Discovery section under Impressions inside post analytics, and LinkedIn is rolling it out to users worldwide.
LinkedIn Post Analytics 2026 update gives creators two important signals to work with. According to LinkedIn’s director of creator products, a post with high out-of-network reach is helping a creator build a bigger audience. A post with high in-network engagement is helping them build deeper relationships with people they already know. Both types of performance matter, but they serve different goals, and now creators can clearly see which type of result their content is delivering.
In a separate update, LinkedIn also changed the way document posts look in the feed. These posts now appear as smaller and more compact carousels instead of the older wider display format. Research published earlier in 2026 found that document posts generate the highest engagement of any content type on LinkedIn, making this change an important one to watch. The new design aims to make document posts look cleaner in the feed, though it remains to be seen whether the change will help or hurt engagement numbers.
Both updates are now available globally as part of LinkedIn’s ongoing effort to give professional creators better data and a more refined content experience on the platform.
