No nation can advance without embracing selflessness and sacrifice, Gilani

Message of Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha

Islamabad : Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani has extended warm greetings to the entire Muslim Ummah on the blessed and joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Adha. In his message, he said that Eid-ul-Adha commemorates the unparalleled example of Prophet Ibrahim (A.S.)’s obedience to Allah and Prophet Ismail (A.S.)’s submission and willingness to sacrifice, establishing a timeless tradition of devotion and sacrifice that will be followed till the end of time.

He emphasized that the spirit of sacrifice carries a universal significance and that no nation can progress unless it embraces the values of selflessness and sacrifice. Eid-ul-Adha teaches us that true success lies in sacrificing one’s desires and interests for the sake of Allah’s pleasure.

Chairman Gillani said that we must set aside all personal interests, preferences, and biases to work collectively for the progress, prosperity, and well-being of our country and society. The time has come to rise above political affiliations and adopt a united approach for the development and prosperity of Pakistan. This country was established through immense sacrifices, patience, and resilience, and it is our collective responsibility to contribute wholeheartedly to its progress.

He stressed the importance of remembering the underprivileged members of society on this festive occasion—those who are economically struggling due to unfortunate circumstances. While celebrating Eid, we must ensure that our neighbors and fellow citizens are not left out of the joy and blessings of this sacred day.

Chairman Gillani also called upon the nation to remember the martyrs, builders, and protectors of the homeland—those who laid down their lives for the defense, development, and dignity of Pakistan.

He urged all Muslims to offer special prayers on Eid for the oppressed people of Palestine and Indian-occupied Kashmir. “May Allah, through His mercy, ease their sufferings,” he prayed.
