Pakistan will not be defined by terrorism and war, Sherry

Washington DC : Senator Sherry Rehman, Vice President PPP and senior member  of Pakistan’s high-level diplomatic delegation led by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, declared today that Pakistan has emerged from an 87-hour war with clarity and resolve: “We want to be defined by our own story.

Senator Rehman said Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is leading one of the most active and powerful delegations Pakistan has ever sent—engaging multilaterally and bilaterally through an exhaustive schedule spanning several countries. “This mission is about reclaiming Pakistan’s narrative. It is about telling our story, our reality, not the one imposed on us by others,” Senator Rehman stated.

“Pakistan will not be defined by terrorism and war,” she said. “If India chooses to do that, it is India’s own obsession with perpetual war. Pakistan, on the other hand, seeks perpetual peace, sustainable dialogue, and regional stability.”

Calling for the immediate restoration of the Indus Waters Treaty, Senator Rehman stressed that there is no legal provision for the treaty to be placed in abeyance. “We see attacks on water and the weaponisation of water as acts of war,” she said. “This is not just about water—it is about international law, regional peace, and the foundational principles of transboundary cooperation.”

Senator Rehman made it clear that Pakistan’s mission is not about provocation but about progress. “We seek paths to stabilisation and peace. That’s our mission.”

The Pakistani delegation continues its strategic outreach in, meeting with key global stakeholders to restore Pakistan’s space on the diplomatic stage and affirm its commitment to peace and responsibility.
