Pak-Turkish Envoys Stress Peace Over War

Turkish Ambassador Dr. Irfan Naziroglu met with Advisor to the Prime Minister, Rana Sanaullah discussed regional situation and bilateral cooperation.

Islamabad (GNP) – Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Irfan Naziroglu, called on Adviser to the Prime Minister on Inter-Provincial Coordination and Public Affairs, Rana Sanaullah. Federal Secretary for Inter-Provincial Coordination, Muhiuddin Ahmed Wani, was also present in this important meeting.

During the meeting, the two leaders discussed in detail the changing political and defense situation in the region, including matters of mutual interest.

Rana Sanaullah and the Turkish Ambassador expressed serious concern over the escalating tensions and war situation between the US, Israel and Iran. The two leaders agreed that war is not the solution to any problem and it is not only causing loss of human lives but also posing serious threats to the global economy and energy supply. Both sides stressed the need for peace and security in the region and diplomatic resolution of disputes.

Advisor to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah briefed the Turkish Ambassador on the situation on the Pak-Afghan border and Pakistan’s position regarding relations with Afghanistan.

Turkish Ambassador informed Rana Sanaullah that the Turkish Sports Minister will visit Pakistan in the month of May. The aim of the visit is to promote sports between the two countries and ensure the provision of common platforms for the youth.

Federal Secretary Mohiuddin Wani reiterated the commitment to increase cooperation with Turkey in various fields at the inter-provincial lvel.

Rana Sanaullah, while appreciating the long-standing brotherly relations between Turkey and Pakistan, said that Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Turkey and that both countries have stood by each other in every difficult time.
