Peace in KPK cornerstone of sustainable development, Gilani

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa meets Acting president Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani

Islamabad : Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi met with Acting President of Pakistan, Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, at his residence. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the overall political situation of the country, the law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, good governance, and the province’s overall socio-political conditions.
While speaking on the occasion, Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani stated that Pakistan’s Upper House of Parliament, which ensures equal representation of all provinces, is playing an effective role in promoting development and prosperity across the country. He emphasized that senators from all provinces serve as a strong voice for their respective regions and are actively working to address public issues. He reaffirmed the commitment to adopting a comprehensive and improved strategy to ensure balanced development and prosperity for all provinces.
The Acting President paid rich tribute to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for their unparalleled bravery, sacrifices, and resilience in the fight against terrorism. He said that lasting peace in the province is the cornerstone of sustainable development and prosperity. He particularly acknowledged the immense sacrifices rendered by the people of the merged districts for the restoration of peace, stating that their contributions can never be forgotten.
Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani reiterated that the development, welfare, and prosperity of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including the merged districts, remain a top priority and core mission of the government, and assured that all available resources will be utilized to achieve this objective.
Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi briefed the Acting President on the ongoing measures being taken to ensure law and order, promote good governance, and enhance public welfare in the province. He also expressed his resolve to further strengthen cooperation between the federation and the province for the greater benefit of the people.
