RDA Demolishes Illegal Development in Chinnar Valley Housing Scheme

Zero Tolerance for Unauthorized and Illegal Construction, Says DG RDA Kinza Murtaza

RAWALPINDI: On the directions of the Director General, Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Kinza Murtaza, the RDA Enforcement Squad conducted a comprehensive operation against the housing scheme Chinnar Valley, located at Mouza Banda Nagyal, Dhamyal Road, Rawalpindi.
During the operation, illegal development activities including unauthorized plotting, roads, and infrastructure were demolished, while Damp Proof Course (DPC) and illegally constructed boundary walls of houses were also removed.
The Enforcement Squad also directed the developers to immediately stop all construction activities and restore compliance with relevant laws and regulations without delay.
The DG RDA, Kinza Murtaza, reaffirmed that the Authority will not tolerate any form of illegal or unauthorized development. She emphasized that strict enforcement operations will continue to protect public interest, ensure discipline in urban planning, and prevent fraudulent development practices.
RDA strongly advises citizens to refrain from investing in unauthorized housing schemes and to verify the legal status of any project through official RDA platforms before making any financial commitments.
The DG RDA has also directed the MP&TE Directorate to take strict action against all illegal and unauthorized housing schemes, commercial activities, booking offices, and encroachments without any fear or favour.
RDA reiterates its unwavering commitment to safeguarding citizens’ rights, ensuring strict compliance with urban development laws, and taking decisive action against any form of fraud or malpractice within its jurisdiction. The Authority remains determined to uphold transparency, strengthen internal accountability mechanisms, and protect the public from exploitation.
Furthermore, RDA regularly issues press releases to keep the public informed and advises citizens to avoid investing in illegal housing schemes. Citizens are encouraged to visit the RDA website (www.rda.gop.pk) and transact only with approved housing schemes.
The operation was carried out by the RDA Enforcement Squad, including, Building Surveyor Malik Amir Mahmood, Building Suprintendent Fahad Bhatti, Scheme Inspector Imran Jaffari, and other officials.
