
First Briefing Session of the Pakistan–Denmark Parliamentary Friendship Group (PFG)
Islamabad : The Pakistan–Denmark Parliamentary Friendship Group (PFG), under the convenership of Ch. Muhammad Shahbaz Babar, MNA, held its first briefing session at the Parliament House. The session was attended by Nadeem Abbas, Syed Raza Ali Gillani, Rana Iradat Sharif Khan, Muhammad Khan Daha, Sanjay Perwani, Dr. Shazia Sobia Aslam Soomro, Saba Talpur and Nikhat Shakeel Khan.
Convener, Ch. Muhammad Shahbaz Babar, highlighted the significance of strengthening parliamentary engagement as an effective instrument to complement government-to-government relations. He further emphasized the pivotal role of Parliamentary Friendship Groups in promoting constructive dialogue, addressing mutual perceptions, and fostering enhanced people-to-people contacts.
Ambassador provided a comprehensive overview of Pakistan–Denmark bilateral relations, highlighting the overall trajectory of engagement, existing areas of cooperation, and the broader diplomatic context.
During the discussion, the members exchanged views on various avenues to further strengthen bilateral relations and underscored the importance of concerted efforts to create opportunities for enhancing trade and investment linkages, particularly through business-to-business matchmaking. The discussion also emphasized expanding cooperation in the fields of education, skills development, and innovation; promoting cultural exchanges and joint initiatives to commemorate shared milestones; and addressing matters related to diaspora welfare, labor mobility, and community perceptions.
The session concluded with a shared understanding that Pakistan–Denmark relations continue to progress in a positive and forward-looking manner, and that sustained parliamentary engagement can play a constructive and facilitative role in deepening mutual understanding, broadening sectoral cooperation, and advancing long-term bilateral objectives of mutual interest.
