Green economy generating jobs and reshaping industries worldwide, Delegation

Petersburg : A delegation from the Senate of Pakistan has arrived in St. Petersburg, Russia, to participate in the 11th Nevsky International Ecological Congress, being held from May 22 to 23. The delegation is led by Senator Amir Waliuddin Chishti and includes Senator Bushra Anjum Butt and Senator Rahat Jamali.

During the Congress, the delegation engaged in discussions on a range of critical topics, including food security in the context of climate change, sustainable development within BRICS countries, and the circular economy—its growth potential, challenges, and future prospects.

Members of the delegation further emphasized that the green economy is not merely a vision for the future but a present-day reality that is creating millions of jobs and transforming industries across the globe. They highlighted Pakistan’s active role in this global transition, particularly through innovative initiatives aimed at nurturing a new generation of young environmental leaders. These efforts reflect Pakistan’s commitment to sustainable development and its resolve to be an active participant in shaping a greener, more resilient world.
