Balochistan Minister accused of triple murder case

On Tuesday, tension erupted in Balochistan following the discovery of three bodies who are reportedly killed by the order of Sardar Abdur Rahman.

Quetta, 22 February 2023 (GNP): On Tuesday, tension erupted in Balochistan following the discovery of three bodies—a mother and her two sons—in a well in the Barkhan area by the Levies forces, which sparked a fervent response from the local Marri tribesmen.

The deceased belonged to Khan Muhammad Marri’s family, a tribesman from the area. Giran Naz, the wife of Khan Muhammad Marri, and her two sons, Mohammad Nawaz, who is in his twenties, and Abdul Qadir, who is in his teens, were named as the victims.

The remains were discovered in a well in the Haji Kot neighborhood of the district on Monday night, according to the police.

They were initially brought to the Barkhan Civil Hospital, where they underwent medical and legal procedures before being returned to their heirs.

Hundreds of Marri tribesmen carrying the three bodies arrived on Tuesday and had begun a march in two ambulances from Barkhan to Quetta in order to hold a protest rally outside the Balochistan Legislature and demand justice.

Khan Muhammad Marri claimed that Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran, the Provincial Minister of Communication and Works, had murdered his family. Additionally, he claimed that the victims had been tortured before to their deaths.

Khetran, however, refuted the charge and referred to the media reports as propaganda intended to harm his political standing. Khetran claimed that there was an anti-Khetran plot behind the murders.

Balochistan police head Abdul Khaliq Sheikh said that the incident would be the subject of a fair and open investigation. There will be no exceptions. There would be a fair investigation, he assured.

The government has been instructed to undertake a free and impartial investigation into the incident, according to the inspector general of police. If the District Police Officer (DPO) is at fault, action would also be taken against him, he continued.

Mir Quddus Bizenjo, the chief minister of Balochistan, also directed the creation of a joint inquiry team (JIT). He stated in a statement on Tuesday night that the administration has decided to conduct an impartial probe into the recovery of the bodies.

A number of Balochistani MPs vehemently denounced the terrible incident and demanded an investigation. Sanaullah Baloch, a politician from the Balochistan National Party-Mengal, stated, “We want justice for the bereaved family.”

Senator Sarfraz said, “Deeply sorry to see such horrible images of Khan Mohammad Marri’s two sons and wife” posted in a tweet by Bugti.

For the past several days, Khan Mohammad Marri has been chasing justice from pillar to post. I firmly supported him throughout this trying moment.

The finding of three bodies covered in bullets and the subsequent suspected illegal detention, according to the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP), appalled the organization.

The HRCP tweeted, “These serious charges must be promptly investigated.”
