It was found when WhatsApp first began developing this functionality in September 2021, but development was stopped for unidentified reasons. However, as of the most current beta, it looks like the business has resumed development on WhatsApp for iOS (23.3.0.73).
The WABetaInfo site, which tracks WhatsApp features, is always the best place to find the most recent information. As shown by the screenshot, WhatsApp has begun to produce a warning that appears when there is no transcription available for audio communications.
The statement claims that if the app doesn’t recognise any terms or if the transcripts aren’t set to the language used in the sender’s messages, transcripts won’t work.

You can also choose a different language to be used for transcriptions. These voice notes are always locally translated on the device using the required language packs. Your voice notes are exclusively accessible by you because Apple or WhatsApp are never given access to them. Be aware that iOS 11 or later may be required to use this feature.
Such a function ought to be useful when you receive a voice message but can’t hear it right away, like when you’re using Bluetooth speakers to listen to music. Even while there isn’t a concrete release date set in stone just yet, this feature should eventually go live; it only recently entered beta testing once more.
