Protecting human life and environment are collective responsibilities, Chairperson PRCS

PRCS Organises “Steps for Hope: For Earth & Humanity” Hiking Event at Margalla Hills

Islamabad  :-  Pakistan Red Crescent Society Regional Blood Donor Centre, in collaboration with the German Red Cross, organised a hiking event under the theme “Steps for Hope: For Earth & Humanity” at Margalla Hills Trail 5, Islamabad.

The event aimed to raise awareness about voluntary blood donation, promote healthy lifestyles, and encourage collective action for environmental protection and humanity. More than 200 participants, including PRCS volunteers, students, staff members, and media representatives, took part in the hike, reflecting strong community engagement.

Chairperson Pakistan Red Crescent Society, Farzhana Naek, said that initiatives like this reflect the core values of the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement. She emphasized that protecting human life and caring for the environment are shared responsibilities, and such activities motivate communities, especially young people, to adopt healthy habits and positive action.

Secretary General PRCS, Muhammad Abaidullah Khan, highlighted that walking supports physical wellbeing and that voluntary blood donation continues to be a vital lifeline for patients in need. He appreciated the participation of volunteers and reaffirmed PRCS’s focus on preventive health awareness and community engagement.

Head of Delegation IFRC in Pakistan, Farid Abdulqadir, briefly appreciated the initiative, noting that linking health, climate awareness, and humanitarian values helps strengthen community resilience.

In the closing ceremony, shields were awarded to the first four position holders, including two male and two female participants, while certificates were distributed among all participants.
