COMSTECH lauded for a productive initiative for Sudanese engineers, Amb Sudan

Coordinator General OIC-COMSTECH Hosts Reception in Honour of Trainee Sudanese Engineers

Islamabad: Coordinator General of the OIC Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (OIC-COMSTECH), Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary, hosted a reception in honour of a delegation of Sudanese engineers currently participating in the OIC-COMSTECH sponsored CAD/CAM advanced training and collaborative programme at the NUTECH.

The reception was graced by Salih Mohammed Ahmed Mohamed Siddig, Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan to Pakistan, Lt. Gen. (R) Moazzam Ejaz, HI(M), Rector of the National University of Technology (NUTECH), and Dr. Abdul Wajid , Chairman Prime Institute of Health Sciences (PIHS) along with others.

Welcoming the Sudanese delegation, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary highlighted the importance of capacity building and human resource development for sustainable progress in OIC Member States. He expressed his pleasure at hosting the Sudanese engineers and termed their participation in the CAD/CAM training programme a practical manifestation of South-South cooperation under the OIC framework.

Prof. Choudhary extended sincere gratitude to partner institutions, particularly host institution NUTECH and support of PIHS, for their valuable collaboration in making the initiative successful. He reaffirmed OIC-COMSTECH’s commitment to facilitating knowledge transfer, advanced technical training, and collaborative research programmes aimed at strengthening scientific and technological capabilities across the Islamic world.

The presence of twenty Sudanese engineers at the reception reflected the tangible outcomes of OIC-COMSTECH’s ongoing efforts to promote expertise sharing and enhance human capital in critical engineering and technology sectors. Participants underscored that such initiatives not only strengthen professional skills but also deepen institutional and people-to-people linkages between OIC Member States.

The reception concluded with a shared resolve to further expand academic, scientific, and technological cooperation, reinforcing OIC-COMSTECH’s role as a key platform for fostering innovation-driven development and solidarity among countries of the Global South. Sudanese Ambassador to Pakistan extended thanks to OIC-COMSTECH for initiating this quite productive initiative for the Sudanese engineers.
