 PM vows to raise Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan trade volume to $200 million

Islamabad  :-  Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed Pakistan’s commitment to take the bilateral trade with Kyrgyzstan to two hundred million dollars in the next two years.

He was addressing the Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan Business Forum,  Prime Minister said Kyrgyzstan is a landlocked country and Pakistan is geographically very well placed to provide a quick access to Kyrgyzstan through its ports.

The Prime Minister also urged Kyrgyz businessmen to identify areas of mutual cooperation to enhance bilateral trade and investment in the sectors like education, textile, agriculture and health.

He said about 8500 Pakistani students are getting education in medical universities of Kyrgyzstan. He said both the countries have agreed for a joint mechanism to certify that these doctors work in Kyrgyzstan and in Pakistan.

To promote cultural relations, Shehbaz Sharif said both the countries have also decided to hold cultural events in Bishkek and Islamabad and other provincial centers of Pakistan.

He said Pakistan supports CASA-1000 project and appreciates the Kyrgyzstan’s achievement to complete their part of CASA while Pakistan’s part of the project will be completed very soon.

Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed government’s commitment to transform historical goodwill and friendship between both the countries into strong economic bonds.

Addressing the Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan Business Forum, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov said there are excellent conditions to fully realize the potential of trade and economic cooperation between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan.

He said Kyrgyzstan is located in the heart of Eurasia and its location offers tremendous opportunities. He said, by effectively utilizing the transit and all the logistical advancement, both the countries can gain access to millions of the people of the global market.

He said Kyrgyzstan fully supports the implementation of the goals set by Pakistan under the URAAN Pakistan development program.

Sadyr Zhaparov said Kyrgyzstan is ready to cooperate with Pakistan entrepreneurs in the field of virtual assets.
