Islamabad : Ambassador, Nicolas Galey, together with Economic Counsellor Laurent Chopiton, visited the Islamabad premises of Schlumberger Pakistan.
Although a global company, Schlumberger is of French origin and maintains strong ties with France, notably through its global R&D center based in Clamart — a testament to France’s strengths as an engineering hub for leading international groups.
In Pakistan, Schlumberger has built a solid and long-standing presence and recently celebrated its 75th anniversary in the country. The company now covers its full portfolio — Oil & Gas, Digital Solutions and New Energy — including energy storage, bioenergy, geothermal and geoenergy, CCS, hydrogen and lithium. Schlumberger provides state-of-the-art services to major local players such as OGDC, Pakistan Petroleum Limited and others.
The visit concluded with an engaging session with Schlumberger teams on the impact of digital transformation in the energy sector, mining opportunities in Pakistan, and the importance of the French language, as well as the study and career prospects France offers to Pakistani engineers.

Many thanks to Schlumberger’s CEO and his team for welcoming us and for their strong commitments to energy transition and CSR initiatives, fully aligned with the priorities of French economic diplomacy.
