COMSTECH, Sudan Embassy and NUTECH to Train Sudanese Engineers

Islamabad : Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), in collaboration with the Embassy of Sudan and the National University of Technology (NUTECH) Islamabad, has launched a specialised training programme for Sudanese engineers in computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) and CNC machine operation.

A group of 20 Sudanese engineers and technologists has arrived in Islamabad to take part in the programme and was received by senior officials of COMSTECH along with the Sudanese ambassador to Pakistan.

The training programme will begin on Dec 1, 2025, at NUTECH and is aimed at enhancing the technical and practical skills of young Sudanese professionals in modern manufacturing systems, precision engineering and automated production technologies.

COMSTECH Coordinator said that “the initiative forms part of the organisation’s ongoing efforts to strengthen scientific and technological capacity in OIC member states through targeted human resource development programmes”

The Sudanese ambassador expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s support and for COMSTECH’s role in facilitating the training, noting that the programme would contribute towards developing skilled manpower for Sudan’s industrial and engineering sectors.

NUTECH officials said the university remains committed to providing technical training and educational cooperation to friendly countries under OIC initiatives, especially in emerging fields related to industrial design and manufacturing.

The programme will include hands-on training on CAD/CAM systems, CNC programming and machinery operation, along with exposure to modern industrial practices and digital manufacturing tools
