PTA and MoCC join hands to advance green ICT and digital growth

Islamabad :   Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and the Ministry of Climate Change & Environmental Coordination (MoCC&EC) have signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at PTA Headquarters to advance Green ICT, promote responsible e-waste management, and foster climate-resilient digital infrastructure across Pakistan.

The collaboration underscores PTA’s leadership in aligning digital transformation with environmental sustainability through coordinated policy development, knowledge sharing, and joint initiatives. Key focus areas include energy-efficient telecom networks, sustainable ICT infrastructure, and capacity-building programs to drive eco-friendly innovation.

Chairman PTA, Major General (R) Hafeez Ur Rehman, HI (M) SI, emphasised that the partnership marks a significant step towards embedding environmental responsibility into Pakistan’s digital agenda, in line with the Digital Pakistan Vision, Vision 2025, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

PTA reinforces Pakistan’s commitment to the ITU G5 Regulatory Framework and paves the way for a sustainable, inclusive, and environmentally conscious digital future.
