
Youth dialogue highlights digital employment, entrepreneurship opportunities
Rawalpindi : Dialogue on digital employment and entrepreneurship for youth was organised by the Young Journalists Association (YJA) in collaboration with the international journalists’ organisation Fourth Pillar, bringing together government officials, media professionals and digital experts to discuss emerging opportunities in the digital economy.
Syed Zeeshan Naqvi, focal person of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, said the government was taking practical steps to equip young people with modern digital skills and provide sustainable employment opportunities. He said freelancing and digital entrepreneurship had emerged as important tools for economic self-reliance and urged youth to benefit from digital platforms.
The dialogue was attended by Pakistani-American Muhammad Suleman Butt, President Young Journalists Association Muhammad Yousaf Khan, Vice President Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists Farhat Fatima, General Secretary Private Schools Association Islamabad Abdul Waheed Khan, senior lawyer Zahid Bashir Dar, Sabuhi Hussain, CEO Digital Nexus, Hussain Subhani, CDO Digital Nexus Asia, President Education Beat Reporters Association Zafar Sapra, senior journalist Ayesha Naz, along with YJA Secretary General Sonia Satti, Vice Presidents Adnan Arif, A large number of male and female journalists were also present at the event.
Farooq Mirza, president of Fourth Pillar USA, said the digital economy was shaping the future of global markets and stressed that meaningful development was not possible without providing youth with internationally competitive training and practical exposure. He said Fourth Pillar had launched several initiatives related to digital skills, cybersecurity and employment, which were being expanded in collaboration with chambers of commerce.
President YJA, Muhammad Yousaf Khan said the objective of the dialogue was to align young journalists with modern professional requirements and introduce them to new digital employment avenues. Meanwhile, Sonia Satti said empowering women and young journalists through digital skills had become a pressing need, adding that the association was actively working on professional training, digital security awareness and freelancing opportunities.
