Islamabad: Chairman Senate, Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani, has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the passing of Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry, President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Chairman Senate said that Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry was a great, wise and dignified political leader. He had also served as the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and rendered remarkable and lasting services for the welfare and prosperity of the people of the region. He added that Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry raised the Kashmir issue at international forums in an effective, reasoned and courageous manner and successfully conveyed the voice of the Kashmiri people to the world.
Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani stated that the political and social services of Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry will always be remembered. His struggle, leadership and sacrifices for Azad Jammu and Kashmir are an important part of history, and future generations will continue to draw guidance from his services.
The Chairman Senate expressed heartfelt condolences and sympathies with the bereaved family and said that he equally shares their grief in this difficult hour. He prayed that Almighty Allah may grant eternal peace to the departed soul, forgive him, and bestow patience and strength upon the bereaved family to bear this great loss.
